Azerbaijan more than doubles vegetable exports in January
Azerbaijani vegetable exports in January 2017 were 2.3 times as high as in the same month of the previous year, according to Interfax-Azerbaijan.
As a result, Azerbaijan exported about 6,800 tons of vegetables (up 2.3 times) valued at $6 mln (up 2 times), slightly less than 16,000 tons of fruits (up by 44.7%) valued at $17.7 mln (up by 38.4%).
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan’s imports of fruits stood at 6,900 tons (up by 60%) valued at $5 mln (up by 15%), vegetable imports totaled 2,400 tons (up by 25.6%) valued at $1.3 mln (up by 23.9%), and imports of potatoes amounted to 18,500 tons (a decrease of 13.6%) valued at $3.6 mln (a fall of 28.9%).
