Cucumber prices in Poland 25% lower than in Ukraine

Ukrainian greenhouse farms are forced to reduce their cucumber prices due to low export demand. According to Fruit-Inform, cucumbers have become averagely 28% less expensive since the beginning of this week.

Such a situation is connected with lack of shipments to Poland, one of traditional leaders in imports of Ukrainian cucumbers. Polish companies are uninterested in importing cucumbers from Ukraine, as prices of domestic produce are averagely 25% lower in Poland.

In the meantime, Polish farms offer cucumbers at 0.76-0.94 euro/kg, an increase of 5-7% week-on-week in view of a decrease in supply registered due to cold weather and active demand.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian farms offer cucumbers at UAH 28-36/kg (EUR 0.90-1.24/kg) but manage to sell their produce only in the internal market, where the demand is moderate now.
