Meanwhile, potato prices are stable at Nezhdanna Wholesale Market, Kherson Oblast. As a week before, sellers offer their potatoes at UAH 5.30-6.00/kg (EUR 0.18-0.21/kg) there. However, local market operators expect prices to start growing soon in view of already limited supply of potatoes in the region.
Growers connect positive pricing trend with a significant decrease in the supply of ware potatoes in Ukraine registered in the past few weeks. Moreover, buyers often say about problems with sourcing potatoes of necessary quality.
It should also be noted that potato prices have already grown by about a third in Ukraine year-on-year. We would remind you that minimum prices of potatoes stood at UAH 3/kg in late April 2016.
