Ukrainian cucumber exports up by 40% in first half of 2017
Ukraine has significantly raised its cucumber exports in the first half of 2017: they went up by 40% compared with the same period of the previous year, according to Fruit-Inform.
The export volumes totaled 2,500 tons against just 1,800 tons in the first half of 2016.
As a year before, Poland and Belarus were the main buyers of cucumbers from Ukraine with a joint share of about 80% in Ukraine’s total exports. It should also be noted that Ukraine managed to raise cucumber exports to Poland by 18% year-on-year, while shipments to Belarus almost doubled.
