Ukrainian domestic greenhouse tomato season starts
Ukrainian greenhouse farms have started shipping their first volumes of tomatoes, according to Fruit-Inform.
Now the supply is still limited, as just a few companies have begun their season. Prices average UAH 60/kg (EUR 1.85/kg), with retail chains as the main buyers.
This year the Ukrainian domestic greenhouse tomato season started averagely a week later than a year ago due to abnormal weather conditions in March. However, prices are averagely a third higher year-over-year. Growers expect their harvest volumes to grow by early April.
