Russian Premier signed resolution about interventions on grain market

According to Russian newspaper Kommersant, Head of Russian Government Mikhail Fradkov has signed a resolution about interventions on the grain market. The resolution is a framework document, stipulating the mechanism of commodity and purchase interventions and envisaging the start-up of these mechanisms in "automatic" regime.

According to Agriculture Minister Aleksey Gordeyev, this move once again testifies the intent of the state to remain a player on the grain market and to participate in the process of price stabilisation.

"The agricultural producers have received a message that grain prices in the country will be fair", he said.
