Prices for red beets decreased to USD $ 0.06-0.09/kg

This week the supply of red beets from the producers on price USD $ 0.06-0.07/kg has increased as a result of harvesting process. This situation confirmed the prognosed high yield of red beets in 2004. At the same time, the major part of supplies is offered for USD $ 0.09/kg as before, and there are supplies on USD $ 0.13/kg. The price depends much on the location of the commodities. The sales of red beets on prices USD $ 0.09-0.1/kg are possible in Poltava, Cherkasy and Kyiv oblasts; but it will be difficult to sell these commodities on the mentioned price in Lviv oblast because of the increasing costs of transportation.

AMP information. The overproduction of red beets is observed in western oblasts of Ukraine: Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi oblasts
