328 ths. MT of crop 2001 procured by the State Reserve

The State Committee on State Supplies Reserve (SCSSR) (DerzhRezerv) purchased from domestic agriproducers 328 ths. MT of grain produced this year of 1 mn. MT projected by the government.

Such statement was made by Volodymyr Omelianchouk, the SCSSR Deputy Head while discussing things on Dec. 25 on-line telephone conference called Economic Reform Problems.

Small volumes of grain procurements by the SCSSR happened because of insufficient funding, said V. Omelianchouk.

According to him, SCSSR makes no procurement of grain today for the same reason.

On the other hand, said Omelianchouk, if reserves of previous years are taken into account, "State Reserve has enough grain to provide for Ukraine's domestic security."

He also stated that previously the government ordered that authorized companies purchase 3 mn. MT of grain, respectively State JSC "Khlib Ukrainy" - 1,5 mn. MT, SCSSR - 1 mn. MT, and "UkoopSpilka" - 500,000 MT.

State JSC "Khlib Ukrainy" met the requirements and purchased 1,5 mn. MT of grain.
