Ukraine: weather conditions in the last third of December were favourable for winter crops
During the last 11 days of December there were no dangerous phenomena for wintering cereals and perennial grasses, a spokesman for Ukraine's weather centre has told APK-Inform.
The minimal soil temperature at the plant stooling node depth was not dropping below minus 1 to 6 degrees Celsius, which is considerably above the critical temperature of freezing-out, which made as of the end of December, depending on the phase of development and the variety of plants, minus 14 to 18 degrees Celsius.
In southernmost areas of the country and the AR of Crimea, in conditions of unseasonably warm weather for the end of December, awakening of plants for vegetation was registered.
