Ukraine will ask WTO to ease its requirements on cuts of agriculture support - AP Minister

Ukraine will be asking Word Trade Organisation to ease some conditions of Ukraine's accession into the Organisation, Agrarian Policy Minister of Ukraine Olexandr Baranisvsky told reporters on February 9.

In particular, the minister views as unjust the WTO requirement of cutting the level of state support of agricultural sector down to the level of 2000.

"We do not suggest preferences to separate enterprises, but we raise the issue that all our enterprises should work in equal conditions. We want to subsidise, first of all, the producer, the way it is being done all over the world. And we will be proving our rightness on this issue", the minister said.

At the same time, he said, Ukraine will not give up its WTO accession aspirations and will do its best so that it should happen in the nearest time.
