Decreasing import duty for feed commodities. EU
UNIAN reported that starting from Apr 1, 2002, European Union decided to drop the feed wheat import duty down to EURO 9.69/MT.
According to ProAgro director and analyst Mykola Vernytskyi previously importers had to pay EURO 10.09/MT for this feed commodity.
The beginning of ups and downs of this duty goes back a couple of months ago when imports of the commodity in question from Ukraine, Russia, and Eastern Europe into EU reached its culmination point thus making European farmers' life tough as far as grain sales are concerned.
Nevertheless, Vernytskyi believes that in the near future this duty may fall further down due to beginning of wheat price resurrection on the world market. Import duties cover wheat with protein content below 11.5% whereas milling wheat is not subject to import duty in EC.
