Polish pork lowered in price

After Russia has banned Polish meat import, prices on meat and many meat products decreased significantly in Poland. According to the experts' evaluations, pork price may drop from $ 1.1-1.13 to $ 1 per one kilo of live weight.

The decreased demand from the side of Russia will undoubtedly affect the market; despite of it, Polish meat industry is able to find alternative sales channels quite soon, to the experts' opinion. For example, meat supplies to Ukraine may become attractive to Polish producers again, as inner price reaches $ 1.9 per kilo of pork live weight (some months ago the prices were about $ 2.3/kg). That's thy banned supplies of Polish pork to Russia may lead to pork price decrease on Ukrainian market.
