Egyptian trade minister negotiated free trade regime with Russia

Egyptian newspaper Al Ahram wrote on Sunday that Egypt's Foreign Trade Minister Rachid Mohamed Rachid had made a 3-day trip to Moscow where he held negotiations with Russian officials.

According to the newspaper, the main objective of the visit was to step forward towards establishing a free trade regime between the two countries starting from 2006. The minister was said to have been fully satisfied with the visit, stating an enormous cooperation potential between the two countries in different fields of economy.

The parties have signed general cooperation protocol and expressed willingness to build up further the broad relations in the economic domain, which, according to the newspaper, is fully supported by Egyptian political leadership.
