Agricultural production grows

UNIAN reported that during the first quarter of the 2002 agricultural production increased compared to the similar term a year ago. The growth indicator is 11.1% as announced the AIC Ministry State Secretary Mr. Ryzhouk to the Feb 15 press conference.

Moreover, according to him, production at reformed farms continues to increase in the first place. Such farms showed 23.4% increase in production output during January-March 2002.

According to Ryzhouk, milk production during the first three months grew by 9.9%, eggs - by 17.6%, meat - by 4.7%. Summing up the situation Mr. Ryzhouk commented: "Thus, livestock production showed a positive trend in weight growth which has not been witnessed in Ukraine for a couple of recent years".
