Crimea: 22,318 heads of poultry culled

In the three bird-flu affected areas of the Crimea the infection localisation works are underway. Press-service of Ministry for Emergency Situations informed that as of December 6, 7.00 a.m. (Kiev time) over 22,318 heads of poultry had been confiscated in the affected area which includes 5 villages in Jankoy, Nizhnegorsky and Sovietsky Raions of the Crimea.

As it has been already reported, a 3-kilometre protection zone has been placed around the affected villages and quarantine restrictions have been imposed in the area.

Disinfection and other anti-epidemic works are underway. Poultry movements in and out of the quarantine zone have been banned. The bodies of dead birds are being burnt out.

No infection among people has been reported.
