Ukraine's regions ordered to take preventive measures against bird flu
The authorities of Donetsk, Nikolaev, Odessa, Zaporozhye and Kherson Oblasts (in the south and south-east of Ukraine) have been ordered to take preventive measures to stop expansion of the bird flu onto their territories, Ukraine's Minister for Emergency Situations Vikor Barloha said in his speech to parliament on Tuesday.
"A threat also exists for other regions. We applied to the authorities of these regions with a request to perform monitoring and take adequate measures", he said.
