Import of Polish Apples Slows Considerably Due to Weather Conditions

According to information provided by market insiders, supplies of Polish apples to Ukraine have nearly stopped because of the heavy frosts in Poland and Ukraine. Apple transport is unsafe now, and trade in unsuitable places would result in damaged products. In addition, its difficult to sell apples in wholesale trading now as there is little demand in the markets. Wholesalers prefer not to take risks with imported commodities. National apple suppliers are not reconsidering their prices as they continue to sell their commodities through shops and supermarkets.

Remember that Polish and Moldavian apples have significantly influenced the Ukrainian apple market. The import taxes are low in the winter period and an excessive apple supply has accumulated from the afore mentioned countries. Hence, why apple price in Ukrainian markets depends greatly on Polish and Moldavian suppliers.
