Foreign companies are very interested in blueberry purchase in Ukraine

The analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal point out that many foreign companies have inquired the staff recently about the assistance in search of wholesale blueberry suppliers. Both fresh and frozen berries are of interest, as the demand on this product is constantly growing in the EU countries.

According to the information provided by the Agricultural Marketing Project, cultivar blueberry production can make a very profitable business in our country conditions. This type of business is developing intensively in many world countries. At the same time, there are practically no large blueberry producers in Ukraine: it is in fact wild blueberry which is sold on fresh market, frozen and exported to the EU. The wholesalers have been facing serious problems in recent years purchasing the planned volumes of wild blueberry; the competition for this product has grown much while the supply remains relatively stable.

Moreover, to the opinion of the exports of the Agricultural Marketing Project, wild blueberry supply on market can decrease soon, as population incomes grow, and there is less interest for wild blueberry picking in forests and further sales to the wholesalers. For example, this season the purchase prices for blueberry increased nearly twice on the inner market compared to the previous year; at the same time, the significant export price growth was not observed.
