Potato supply increased, prices decreased in Lviv oblast

Potato supply has increased in Lviv oblast recently, particularly on SHUVAR market; Sergey Havryshev, the Market Information Specialist of Lviv office, Agricultural Marketing Project reported about this fact to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly journal. The supply of local produce has not changed much; it is still low. But, Volyn oblast suppliers became more active; they offer potato from the private producers of their oblast and imported potato of Belarus origin. Due to the fact that the demand remained on the same level (on the inner oblast market and from the side of neighboring Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattya oblasts), the price decreased from $ 0.45 in the beginning of March down to $0.41/kg at the present moment.

A year ago potato cost $ 0.13/kg in Lviv oblast, the producers from Lviv, Volyn, Rivne and Ternopil oblasts supplied it on market.
