The Ministry of Economics of Ukraine forecasts vegetable price increase

The Ministry of Economics of Ukraine forecasts retail price increase for vegetables due to the seasonal factor. In the third decade of March the seasonal price increase on vegetable commodities continued in Ukraine, as it was reported by the PR and Mass Media Department of the Ministry of Economics of Ukraine.

According to the data of the price monitoring conducted by the state price control bodies, in the period from 03/20/2006 to 03/30/2006 the average price level on cabbage increased the highest - on 1.1% (up to USD 0.54/kg). The prices on bulb onion grew too - on 0.4% (up to USD 0.54/kg), and carrot - on 1.4 % (up to USD 0.57/kg).

At the same time, red beets price went down 0.8% (down to USD 0.47/kg). Potato price has not changed, as for March 30th it was USD 0.49/kg.
