Agricultural commodities at 12% discount
UNIAN reported that during the first 4 months of the year 2002 prices for agricommodities dropped by 12% over the same period a year ago as Ukrainian Statistics Committee stated.
According to the above source during the period in question average prices for crop production items dropped by 22% and animal production items - by 4%.
Thus, during January-April 2002 the average prices for diary products was US $122 per MT, which is 6.7% less than during the same period a year ago.
Average eggs prices were US $33 per 1,000 pcs thus showing 14.6% less than the value of the said product a year ago.
Grain prices dropped almost twice from last year's.
On the other hand, meat prices went up by 2.2% reaching US $755 per MT.
