Early cherry entered Zakarpattya markets

Zakarpattya producers are harvesting first cherry and strawberry, according to information provided by Lyudmila Dzyamko, the Market Information Specialist of Zakarpattya office, Agricultural Marketing Project. Cherry in bunches has been sold on large city markets for $0.39/bunch during the whole week. Still, cherry in kilos hit the market only by the end of this week. Uzhgorod sellers set cherry price to be $3.9/kg. We'll remind that first cherry shipments entered the market at the last decade of May a year ago; an average price was about $1.56-2.15/kg throughout Ukraine. Cherry price will decline fast, the specialists say. If the weather is favorable and sunny, large increase of cherry supply will occur next week.
