Poltava oblast producers are harvesting early vegetables

Sunny weather was observed in the last week of June (June 26th - June 30th) in Poltava oblast. Sufficiently moistened soil and higher weather temperature are beneficial for major vegetables; these factors support their active vegetation and development. It is worth mentioning that many farms plan to harvest field early potato, red beets and squash for the first time by the end of this week.

Settled weather helps also control plant diseases, especially fungus diseases. High temperatures let aphid spread around vegetable crops. To the opinion of the specialists of Poltava office, Agricultural Marketing Project, the producers should be ready to apply pest control assets two to three times. If favorable weather conditions last for two weeks, according to the forecast of AMP agronomists, vegetation and fruiting delay for vegetable crops will reduce from 10-14 days to one week.
