Only vegetables bacame cheaper in august in Russia

According to information provided by Federal State Statistic Service, August inflation in Russia turned out to be heavier than it had been forecasted and expected and reached 0,2%; to a large extent the reason is increase in prices for inland energy sources. At once, perhaps the only sector where the prices were going down in August was agriculture. And the prices for vegetables and fruits were dropping down most intensively.

Among other things Federal State Statistic Service informs about the lowering of average prices for cabbage 20,3%, for carrot - 19,6%, for beet - 16,1%, for onion - 14,3% and for potato - 13,1%. According to expert opinion, prices' lowering was determined by a good yield of vegetables and potato, gathered by farmers this year.

Detailed information about the price prospective for vegetables and fruits you can get during the first international conference "Fruit and Vegetable Business of Russia 2006", which will take place on the 17-18 October 2006.
