The dynamics of the acreage growth is preserved for drip irrigated areas

According to information provided by the suppliers of drip irrigation systems, the ending season 2006 turned out to be quite successful for them. A rapid extension of drip irrigated acreage was observed both in past 2005 and in the current 2006 seasons. Most enterprises - suppliers of drip irrigation systems increased the sales volumes 1.5-2 times comparing to the previous year.

To the opinion of Mr. Ruslan Naumov, the Manager of Drip Irrigation Systems Sales Department, TERRA LTD company (one of the leaders of this market in Ukraine), a significant growth of the demand for drip irrigation systems from the side of the producers in Central Ukraine is the peculiarity of this season. The specialist forecasts the growth rates for the drip irrigation systems to be preserved next year. First of all, it will happen due to the extension of drip irrigated fields in the central regions of the country, and also due to the rapid growth of intensive orchards where this type of irrigation is used.

Drip irrigation is widely used for the commercial production of vegetables, orchards and vineyards management in Israel, Holland, USA, China, Australia, France, Greece and other countries. Drip irrigation systems have been intensively utilized in Ukraine since recently. More than 15 companies are operating now on the market of drip irrigation systems in Ukraine.
