Production of livestock products in Ukraine continues to grow

During the first half of the year Ukrainian farmers have sold to processors 1.12mn MT of animals in live weight, which is 6.3% more as compared with the same period of 2001. Share of large farms was close to 27%. Milk production has also increased by 6.6% and comprised 7mn MT despite a decrease in livestock herd. Eggs output rose by 16.4% and comprised 6.2bn.

Ministry of agrarian policy expects meat production in 2002 to increase by 21% and milk production - by 1% on a year.
