Ukraine: State Tax Administration to refund VAT in 3-4 months
State Tax Administration of Ukraine promised to refund VAT to grain exporters within the next 3 to 4 months, STAU Deputy President Hryhoriy Operenko said in an interview on August 1.
According to him, tax authorities have scheduled export VAT refund on the instructions of Prime Minister Anatoliy Kinakh made on July 23, 2002. The schedules were approved at the end of past week after having been agreed with grain traders, Mr. Operenko said.
To his opinion, not all the VAT sums that traders have claimed to be refunded are really a subject to refund. Now, according to the Cabinet's resolution, tax authorities are performing check-outs of grain exporters to prove actuality of VAT refund sums they have applied for. As far as realness of the sums has been proved, the sums will be repaid to grain traders. At the moment the agreed sum of VAT to be refunded is about $32 million, Mr. Operenko said.
