Ukraine can beat the record of potato production in 2007

According to the evaluations done by the analysts of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal", potato production in Ukraine can reach the top record in 2007. This fact is proved by the results of the respondent poll conducted among the potato producers in all oblasts of Ukraine. The journal carried out this survey in order to prepare "The production and price forecast for fruits and vegetables 2007".

Despite of the considerably declined prices for potato in the ending season, the feasibility of this crop production remained very high. So, potato production attracts many farmers this year. It is worth to point out that around 13% of farmers will produce potato for the first time in 2007. If no natural disasters occur during the process of potato vegetation, the most significant growth of potato supply will likely happen in the center of Ukraine and in the southern oblasts of the country.

You can read about the changing potato cultivation areas in 2007, and the possible influence on potato prices in the full version of the survey "Production and price forecast for fruits and vegetables 2007". The survey will be available to everybody concerned for the price of 2,200 UAH ($440).
