As a result of the dramatic supply growth the price for green onion continues declining
The trend of the price decline for green onion of the national origin has firmly set in Ukraine. The specialists of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" explain this fact by the steadily growing supply of this produce on market. This fact does not let the resellers avoid the price decrease even in the conditions of the stable demand. As of today, the supplied green onion is sold for a wide range of prices, $0.6/kg to $1.6/kg depending on the quality, shipment size and the region where the product is sold. The prices for the medium-quality product are set on the level of $0.4-1/kg.
To the specialists' opinion, a relatively warm weather in the end of winter and the beginning of spring this year contributed to the constantly growing demand. Along with this fact, the market players observe a significantly increased supply of dill and parsley of the national origin. These herbs traditionally compete with green onion and to a great extent stimulate the price decrease in this segment.
