Russia: prices for cabbage of 2006 harvest grow rapidly

According to information provided by the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the prices for cabbage are growing expensive rapidly in the Russian Federation. The reason is the general reduction of cabbage supplies on market. This problem is the most urgent for the wholesale companies, which are interested to purchase quality cabbage. The stocks of quality product were practically absent at the national farms.

As of today, the produce of Dagestan origin makes the most supplies of quality cabbage on Russian market. The resellers of this product have been increasing the sales prices this week due to the active demand. Moreover, the positive price dynamics was recorded in the segment of medium and low quality cabbage.

The general range of the wholesale prices for cabbage is $0.3-0.58/kg this week. Cabbage was sold for $0.23-0.46/kg on week ago.
