Farmland sales in Ukraine may become possible sooner than 2005
Vladimir Zhmutskyi, Deputy Chairman of State Land Committee said August 6 at a press conference that moratorium for farmland sales in Ukraine could be abolished sooner than 2005.
Besides, Mr. Zhmutskyi pointed out that farmland sales were not absolutely prohibited at the moment. "As stipulated in the Land Code, farm land under mass production is prohibited for sale, while other farmland sales are permitted, i.e. individual gardens and farmland plots where there is no large-scale production of agricultural commodities", - he explained.
