Cucumber out of film greenhouses entered Ukrainian market

According to the experts of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal", cucumber out of film greenhouses (forcing frames) of the South of Ukraine starts entering the country market. The experts say this produce started to be supplied on market much later in the previous year. The resellers of the central regions of Ukraine expect the cucumbers out of the local film greenhouses to be supplied in the first decade of May.

As a rule, the produce out of the film greenhouses on market leads to the price decrease. The thing is, the suppliers of such produce are many; and, the production cost of vegetables in the film greenhouses is significantly lower than it is in the glass greenhouses. That's why the considerable decline of the wholesale prices for greenhouse cucumber was observed past week on Ukrainian market; the price drop was the most intensive in the western regions of the country. It is worth mentioning that at the present moment average wholesale prices for greenhouse cucumber are 15-20% lower than at the same period of time in 2006.
