Ukraine: 200,000T grain purchased at mortgage prices
At the moment 200,000 tones of grain have already been bought at mortgage prices, Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Kozachenko told yesterday. He said that such volumes of mortgage sales were quite enough for the moment to provide farmers with cash resources and satisfy their current needs.
He also said that government was working at the moment towards futures trade system development. "It will enable us to solve the task of price stabilisation in more efficient way than mortgage purchases do. We will be better oriented in price 4-6 months ahead, will be able to sell grain under futures contracts and get loans under these contracts," Vice Prime Minister observed.
