Bay leaf prices are increasing in Georgia
According AgVANTAGE with a references to bay leaf exporters in Georgia, dry bay leaf prices continue to increase due to the reduced supplies in the conditions of steady demand.
The bay leaf season ended more than a month ago. The dry bay leaf price is up from 1.2 GEL(US $0.71) in April to 1.5 GEL (US $0.89) today.
Large quantities of fresh bay leaf will not come to the market before the early spring. Hence, during the rest of the period bay leaf prices are expected to increase even further, whereas in autumn the prices may exceed 2,5 GEL (US $1.49) following the considerable changes in bay leaf stocks.
