Russia: the prices for dill and parsley are rapidly growing

The produce market players of Russian Federation inform the specialists of ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal" about a rapid price growth for fresh herbs. This circumstance is especially typical for Moscow and Leningrad oblasts. Two weeks ago an average range of the sales prices for dill and parsley was $3-3.8/kg; as of today, the prices have increased nearly twice, up to $5.4-6.5/kg.

Earlier Uzbekistan was the main supplier of fresh herbs to the territory of Russian Federation; in the whole, the market demand was saturated. Traditionally, the season of fresh herbs supplies from Uzbekistan used to be picked up by dill and parsley shipments from Ukraine. But, this season, because of the extremely hot weather, Ukrainian producers fail to form large shipments of exported fresh herbs to supply on Russian market.

To the opinion of the specialists of wholesale companies, the price growth for fresh herbs may continue unless new shipments of dill and parsley from Ukraine, Uzbekistan, or Georgia enter Russian market soon.
