Ukrainian producers actively export sweet cherry to Russia

Ukrainian sweet cherry meets a good demand in Moscow and other regions of Russian Federation. The representatives of the wholesale companies and supermarket chains provide this information to the analysts of CIS produce business periodical, ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal". However, to the opinion of the market players, the main reason of the interest to Ukrainian sweet cherry is its competitive price.

The retail price for sweet cherry reaches $4-6/kg in Moscow; at the same time, the producers of the South of Ukraine set the wholesale price starting from $0.4-0.6/kg. The representatives of the leading retail chains are actively interested in the possibility to increase the purchase of vegetables, fruits and berries in Ukraine; they are sure, Ukrainian producers just need to install modern systems for the produce cooling and packing to rapidly increase the sales shipments supplied to Russia.
