Ukraine: prices for blueberry may possibly be lower this season

The representatives of the companies, specialized on the production of frozen blueberry, do not forecast the purchase prices for raw materials to be changed significantly this season.

The specialists of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal point out that the processors fixed the purchase prices on the level of $3-3.4/kg in the peak of blueberry harvesting season past year. The blueberry harvest was frost-injured in the major production regions early May 2007; despite of this fact, the market players admit the possibility for the purchase prices to insignificantly decrease.

The market players substantiate their forecast by the significant stocks of past year berries in the enterprises: this fact relates to poor sales observed past year.
