The expectations for fruit&vegetable harvest 2007 continue deteriorating in Ukraine
The agriculture of the South of Ukraine has still been suffering from heat and drought. According to information provided by CIS produce business periodical, ""Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly", the farmers of the most drought-affected southern regions keep on having pessimistic mood regarding the perspectives of fruit and vegetable yield, and also regarding the production in general.
The analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" get messages about destroyed plantings or dramatically declined yield of many crops on a daily basis. During the recent week the periodical has already decreased the production forecasts for potato, tomato and cabbage. According to expectations, the production forecast for onion, carrot and table beet is to be reconsidered downwards soon. The production forecast for apples and pears will probably be decreased too.
The detailed updated production and price forecast for fruits and vegetables will be prepared in September 2007; it will be available to the subscribers of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly".
