The official ceremony of laying the first stone in the foundation of a new enterprise "Logistics Center "Velikaya Gora"" will take place in the village Syrkovo, Novgorodskaya region. Press-service of the Regional Administration informs "Rosbalt-Sever" that Sergey Mitin, the Governor of Novgorodskaya region will participate in the ceremony.

According to the data provided by the Economic Committee of the region, "Logistics Center "Velikaya Gora"" will be opened in the framework of the investment project "Creation of the center for logistics and processing of agricultural products", which is implemented on the territory of Novgorodskaya region by Corporation of virgin and derelict lands cultivation of Guansi-Chzhuan autonomous district (China).

The land plot of 16 hectares is reserved for the construction of logistics center. The investment project envisages the construction of the enterprise for the processing of foodstuff of Chinese origin and for providing logistics services. The objective of the project is the creation of the united system of logistics, production and trade of Chinese products, the platform for Chinese investors. The annual production capacity of the enterprise will be 5,000 tons of foodstuff; it will provide transportation service for the cargo equal to 80,000 tons per year. The total value of the project is $31.2 mln. There is a plan to create 100 jobs as a result of the project implementation. The first two construction stages of the enterprise will be launched in 2008; the third stage will start operating in 2011. As a result of the project implementation the modern logistics center will be created; it will focus on the promotion of Chinese products on the territory of Russia, CIS, European and Baltic countries. It will also contribute to the trade development between Middle Asia, Eastern Asia, Europe and China.

We'd like to remind that in May 2007 the authorities of Novgorodskaya region signed the memorandum of intentions with Chinese "International trade-economic company "Baey"" about the creation of the scientific-commercial complex of vegetable production in Lyubytyn district. The investments totaled to EUR 21.5 mln. As of today, only one Chinese enterprise is operating in Novgorodskaya region: LLC "Dali Novgorod" packs tea.
