Turkish greenhouse vegetables will start entering Ukrainian and Russian market
The players of greenhouse product market inform the specialists of CIS produce business periodical "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly, the first wholesale shipments of greenhouse vegetables from Turkey will enter Ukrainian and Russian markets early November this year. Traditionally, Turkish produce start entering these markets in the moment when the local greenhouse complexes suspend the production.
This season the producers of greenhouse vegetables in Ukraine and Russia can not complain on low prices and insufficient demand for their products. Also, the winter was mild enough for the greenhouse complexes in the South of two countries; so that they were able to economize energy expenses (gas cost in particular). At the present moment the prices for greenhouse cucumber and tomato in Ukraine and Russia are much higher than at the same period of time past year. According to the analysts' forecasts, the prices will grow till the moment when Turkish produce enters the markets.
We'd like to point out that the perspectives and problems of Russian greenhouse industry development will be covered in the report of Natalia Rogova, the President of "Russian Greenhouses" Association during the second international conference "Fruit&Vegetable Business of Russia. Wealth of New Opportunities", to be held on October 23rd-25thm 2007, on the territory of Expocenter in Moscow. In her speech Natalia Rogova will try to answer the question: what is more important for greenhouse complex - to be closer to consumer or to be located in more favorable weather conditions? The same questions with the focus on the perspectives of Ukrainian greenhouse business will be discussed in the framework of the fourth international conference
