Lithuanian government pays $112 per tonne of wheat
Lithuanian agency for market regulation - a branch at the Ministry of agriculture and food - has already purchased from local producers 148,900 tonnes of bread grain. It pays $112 per tonne of 1st and 2nd grade wheat and $100 per tonne of 1st grade rye. The amount of the purchased grain this year is not regulated. Last year 102,000 tonnes of grain were purchased by state agencies.
According to the agency's Director for Purchases Germanas Lamsodis, this year state has allocated foe intervention purchases no less than $4.57 million.
