USA builds up apple supplies to Russia

Washington Apple Commission informed the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits", the demand of Russian companies for American apples significantly increased this year. India and Indonesia are also the countries which build up apple imports from the USA.

According to Andriy Yarmak, the head of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" project, the increase of American apple supplies to Russia becomes possible due to the dramatic decline of apple production in Poland. The considerable part of apple supplies to Russian market was allocated to this country earlier. Also, the decline of US currency exchange rate against euro made the supplies of American apples more competitive on Russian market. We should also mention that the available on market American apple is of a great size. That's why it is attractive to Russian market because the local apples and apples from Ukraine are of relatively small diameter in 2007.
