Press conference on the perspectives of nuts production in Ukraine for the journalists

The project "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" invites the journalists to participate in the press conference dedicated to the development perspectives of nuts production, a new and prospective trend of agri-industrial complex of Ukraine. The press conference will start on the 31st of January 2008 at 4:45 p.m. in the conference hall #3, the third pavilion of "KyivExpoPlaza" exhibition complex (2b Salutnaya Atr., near "Nivki" tube station) in the framework of "Interagro" exhibition and the first international forum "Perspective trends of fruit & vegetable business 2008: Commercial nuts orchards". No accreditation is needed for participation in the press-conference.

"Walnut, hazelnut, almond and other types of nuts may be successfully grown in Ukraine and may provide producers with the stable profit during a long period of time", Andriy Yarmak, the head of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" project says. Nuts production may be a perfect solution for relatively small farms interested in the development of new perspective trends of agricultural business.

Nuts consumption dynamically increases in Ukraine and other countries; although the rates of the production growth lag behind the consumption increase. As a result, the global prices for nuts are constantly increasing. However, to our regret, the potential nuts producers have had insufficient information to maintain the successful business till recently. There were problems with technologies, variety choice, purchases of seedlings, market information, etc. That's why the most part of walnuts was purchased from the local population, hazelnut was imported predominantly from Turkey and Georgia, and almond was purchased in USA.

That's why the experts pf "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" decided to fill the informational gap. They are gathering the leading experts - nuts producers from Ukraine, France, Moldova, Greece, Poland and Great Britain under one roof. The forum participants are producers, suppliers of seedlings and equipment for production, post harvest handling and processing of nuts, nuts exporters and importers, and just prospective investors. The creation of National Association of Nuts Business of Ukraine will be discussed in the framework of this forum.
