Campbell Soup to be produced in Lyubertsi

Campbell Soup, one of the world largest food producers, announced about the entrance to Russian market in summer past year; the company intends to start own production on the basis of "Prodresursy" plant in Lyubertsi, RBC daily informs.

This plant belongs to "Joosten Products JP" holding.

The details of the project have not been released yet; there is just information that the first shipment of nationally produced soups will enter the market by the end of 2008.

Campbell Soup Company is the producer of food, including ready soups, biscuits and drinks based on vegetables. The annual turnover of the company exceeds 7.8 billion dollars. Campbell portfolio also includes such trademarks as Campbell's, Pepperidge Farm and others.

Russian holding "Joosten Products JP" is the supplier of meat raw materials and ready meat products.

The market of ready soups has not been well developed in Russia yet. Campbell estimates the consumption of ready soups to amount to approximately 18 mln. liters per year. Mars company with "Gurmania" brand is the leading player in this segment of Russian market.
