MacDonald's will offer breakfast in Ukraine
According to information provided to "Fruit-Inform" weekly by "MacDonald's Ukraine Ltd.", the company has introduced "MacBreakfast", a new for our market, but a very popular in other countries special morning menu. The components of the new menu will appear in all restaurants of MacDonald's chain by the end of 2009 in Ukraine.
The new menu has the traditional for Ukrainian breakfast pancakes, omelets and other courses. The new for Ukrainian market are MacMaffin sandwiches with egg and pork cutlet, MacMaffin with egg and cheese, MacToast with cheese and others. Those consumers, who would like to have vegetable or fruit salad for the breakfast, should order them separately - according to the pres-service information, fruits and vegetables are not included to "MacBreakfast" morning menu.
For the first time the new menu was introduced in MacDonald's restaurant on Khreshatik on the 26th of February. This menu will be available in all Kyiv restaurants by the end of 2008, and in the other cities of Ukraine - by the end of 2009.
"MacBreakfast" menu will be offered from the moment of the restaurant's opening till 10 o'clock in the morning. The visitors will enjoy the traditional menu during the rest of time. The "MacBreakfast" menu is attractive not only by the original food assortment, but also by an affordable price. For example, "Big Breakfast" (hot roll, omelet, pork cutlet, potato cutlet and a portion of jam, butter or honey) will cost just UAH 16 ($3.2). MacToast with cheese costs just UAH 3($0.6).
Many products of the new menu are of the national origin. In particular, the pork and beef are supplied by the affiliate enterprise "Eska Food Solutions" (Kazatin settlement, Vinnitskaya region). The enterprise "Ovostar" (village Krushinka of Kyivskaya region) will supply eggs, a new product in the MacDonald's assortment.
According to Ian Borden, General Director of "MacDonald's Ukraine Ltd", the company plans to retain and to strengthen its leadership in the public catering sphere. To the opinion of Mr. Borden, this objective can be achieved by the extended menu assortment, the equipment modernization, the increased professional level of the employees, the updated interiors of the restaurants, and, most of all, the consolidated trust among the consumers.
Note: McDonald's company is the global leader of fast food enterprises which consists of more than 31,000 restaurants in more than 119 countries. According to the company's data, McDonald's annually provides its services to around 51 mln. of visitors. McDonald's has been operating since 1997 in Ukraine. At the present moment 60 restaurants of the company work in 17 cities of Ukraine. There is a plan to increase the number of the restaurants up to 240 by 2018.
