Kirghizia: construction of potato processing plant will start late July in Keminskiy district
The construction of the potato processing plant is planned to late July in the village Chymkorgon, Keminskiy district, BusinessAKIpress informs. This information has been released today during the visit of Kurmanbek Bakiev, the President, to the location of the planned construction, the President press service informs.
Kirghiz & Southern-Korean LLC "Bis-Agro" will construct this plant. The production capacity of the plant will amount to 186,000 tons of potato per year. The plant is designed to produce starch, potato juice, bio-ethanol, gluten, protein and other products. If the mentioned capacity is achieved, the annual production of starch will be more than 20,000 tons, the production of bio-ethanol will amount to 19,000 tons.
More than 300 persons will have jobs in the plant working at its full capacity. Also, more than 3,000 persons of the agricultural sector will be involved in the potato production. In general, potato will be purchased from the private agricultural producers and farmers.
The plant is export-oriented. The similar plants have already been working in Southern Korea; there are 2-3 low capacity plants in China. Simultaneously with the construction of the plant, the premises for the lab and the greenhouse will be mounted in order to breed new varieties and to improve the existing potato varieties.
Around $ 55 mln. have been invested to this plant. The creation of several plants is planned for the perspective; they will consume the products of potato processing plant.
The President learned about the project of the plant construction, and communicated with the representatives of "Bis-Agro" LLC. "It is pleasant to see serious people working on the implementation of this project. Naturally, the actual results will depend on the persons involved. I hope the project will be successful", the press service quotes Mr. K. Bakiev.
