"Erkonproduct" to construct vegetable cannery in Saratovskaya region

Moscow company "Erkonproduct", the producer of diary products and canned vegetables, is intended to invest RUR 500 mln. ($20.8 mln.) to the construction of vegetable cannery in Saratovskaya region, the official representative of the regional Ministry of investment policy informed IA "RIA News". "Sergey Karpach, the member of the Board of Directors of the country, contacted us with the proposal to implement the investment project on the production and processing of the agricultural products on the territory of the region", the interviewee said.

He added that, according to evaluations of the agrarian specialists, the natural conditions of the region are very favorable for the cultivation of such agricultural crops as green peas and sugar beets with the application of drip irrigation systems.

The Ministry of the investment policy of Saratovskaya region will support the implementation of this project, the representative of the regional authorities added.

"Erkonproduct" company owns two diary plants in Smolenskaya and Kurskaya regions, and the plant - producer of canned vegetables in Smolenskaya region. The company has 25-30% share of the consumer market of the condensed milk and 30-35% of the market of condensed milk in the commercial containers.
