Russia: new vegetable processing plant is under construction in Kurskiy district
The enterprise is constructed on the border of Chechnya and Stavropolye, in the village Russkoye of Kurskiy district, "Russian Newspaper" informs. The resurrection of the industry will be a real event for the local inhabitants of the village which actually has the status of the district center. Alexander Dadymov, the Director of the local truck & tractor company provided the project of the enterprise. Hennadiy Turkinov, the local inhabitant has been already appointed to the position of the General Director of the to-be-constructed plant.
According to Alexander Dadymov, the new enterprise will be absolutely different if compared to the other canneries operating in the region. Primarily, it will possess the modern imported equipment.
According to the specialists' idea, at once several technological lines will function in a new plant. Some of them will work whole year round. That's why there is a plan to construct the greenhouse nearby the enterprise and also to grow vegetables with the application of drip irrigation systems. The practice proved this method to be the most efficient and economical.
The plant will supply products which are always in demand - pickled cucumbers and cucumbers in marinade, tomatoes, cabbage, tomato paste, canned egg-plants and green pea. Till the present moment green pea was supplied by the neighboring Krasnodarskiy kray, Rostovskaya region, and also Bulgarian and Hungarian producers. And now, the local producers will start growing this crop for the first time. Talking about raw materials, the management of the enterprise has already negotiated the green pea production with the local agricultural producers.
"There is an intention to allocate not less than a thousand of hectares of cultivation lands starting from the next year. The cycle of green pea vegetation and ripening does not exceed two months, so that after the harvesting of this crop the fields will be ready for the winter wheat and oats. Green pea perfectly suits for such rotation", Hennadiy Turkinov said. "In some time the plant will install the line for the production of vegetable and fruit juices and puree. We will probably produce the fist shipment of green pea next year".
To the opinion of the authors of the project, the construction will cost RUR 150 mln. according to the modest calculations. The district does not have such money. Mr. Dadymov and Mr. Turkinov appealed to one of the banks for the funds. The bank promises to provide money because at once two regional ministries are supervising this project - the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agriculture.
The money will be spent not only for the construction, but for the imported equipment too. According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, there is no green pea harvester in the region; the enterprise will need at least two of them. There is a possibility to purchase such harvesters in Holland, which are expensive. The enterprise plans to use the services of the leasing company.
Talking about the sales, to the opinion of Hennadiy Turkinov, there will be no problems in this area. The enterprise decided to produce green pea not in the metal tins but in glass jars which enjoy great demand. Also, this will be ecologically safe products.
