Moldovan government funds the construction of new greenhouses

The greenhouse industry of Moldova has declined during the recent years. New owners closed and dismantled many former greenhouse complexes managed by the collective farms. However, since 2008 the Government has started to donate the construction of new greenhouses and to support the already operating producers of greenhouse vegetables, Anatoliy Spivachenko, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry informed the journalists of "Independent Moldova".

Two large greenhouse farms will be created this year in Moldova; the vegetables will be grown according to the most advanced foreign technologies. One of the greenhouse complexes will occupy 7 ha in Yalovenskiy district. In particular, the mounting of 3.5 ha of greenhouses is close to the end. First tomatoes and cucumbers will be harvested in November-December. The second stage will be launched next year. The greenhouse farm of 2 ha is successfully working in the village Slobodzeya-Dushka (Kriulyanskiy district); the buyers confirmed the perfect quality of the produced vegetables.

The closest perspective of the strategy of the sustainable development of the agriculture presupposes the construction of the greenhouses in almost all districts of the Republic and Autonomous Okrug Gagauzia. "We are able to provide our Republic with the own vegetables and fruits whole year round; we will fulfill this task", the expert pointed out.
