Ukraine: officials to plant vineyards in Zaporozhye
Public administration of Zaporozhye oblast initiates making of grape plantations of table varieties, UNIAN informed.
Last Friday, July 18, the agreement has been reached on performance of the research concerning agricultural features of the territories of Primorskiy, Akimovskiy and Priazovskiy areas of Zaporozhye oblast (the southern part of Zaporozhye oblast, the Azov sea coast), potentially applicable for cultivation of table varieties of grape, reported Valeriy Cherkaska, the Deputy Governor overseeing agro-industrial complex. According to V. Cherkaska, within this project they will conduct soils researches, collect data on weather conditions (in particular, concerning standard number of sunny days) as well as other information necessary for detection of territories optimal for wine-growing.
Research data are to be finished by the end of 2008 and the next year we will give its detailed results to the agricultural producers and propose to make grape plantations of table varieties, informed V. Cherkaska.
